Begin your new career with careful guidance, support and learning from our team of experts.

Level 1 – Trainer Basics

 

$900.  6-month program, includes 75 experience hours.

This program begins the Candidate on their learning journey for eligibility to apply for the CCPDT’s CPDT-KA exam (Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed).  Candidate will be guided through the process of what he/she needs to study, the best resources to review and discussions after self-study.  Candidate will gain knowledge of learning theory, training basics, ethology, equipment, animal husbandry, terminology, techniques and observation skills.  The 75 experience hours will include being present during training classes, consulting with a trainer about current cases, being part of designing training plans, assisting a dog groomer, and assisting a trainer but not actively instructing a client or training a dog.

Level 2 - Advanced Learning and Hands-on

 

$2800. 18-month program, includes 200 experience hours.

Candidate will begin (under supervision) instructing group dog training classes, conducting private training lessons, consulting with clients, and training hands-on with one or more dogs. Emphasis is in fully preparing the candidate to be eligible to apply for the CPDT-KA exam. In order for the student to be eligible for the CCPDT’s CPDT-KA exam, a total of 300 experience hours are needed within 3 years.

Level 3 – Active Apprentice Program

 

$1100. 6-month program.  75+ experience hours.

Student will continue hands-on instruction of group and private lessons.  A trainer will observe, supervise and support candidate until he/she is fully comfortable, competent and knowledgeable about everything needed to be a professional dog trainer.   Upon completion, apprentice will be expected to sit for the CCPDT’s CPDT-KA exam.

Level 4 – Advanced Apprentice

 

$600. 6-month program.

For newly sanctioned CPDT-KA title holders or experienced trainers who wish to gain more experience and learning in a supportive environment for potential employment with our organization.

We also offer a behavioral track that prepares the student for the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers Certified Behavior Consultant Canine – Knowledge Assessed title (CBCC-KA).
