This program begins the Candidate on their learning journey for eligibility to apply for the CCPDT’s CPDT-KA exam (Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed). Candidate will be guided through the process of what he/she needs to study, the best resources to review and discussions after self-study. Candidate will gain knowledge of learning theory, training basics, ethology, equipment, animal husbandry, terminology, techniques and observation skills. The 75 experience hours will include being present during training classes, consulting with a trainer about current cases, being part of designing training plans, assisting a dog groomer, and assisting a trainer but not actively instructing a client or training a dog.
