Student will be guided through the process of what he/she needs to study and the best resources and discussions after self-study. Candidate will gain knowledge of learning theory, training basics, ethology, equipment, animal husbandry, terminology, techniques and observation skills. Candidate will begin (under supervision) instructing group dog training classes, assisting during private training lessons and consultations with clients and some hands-on training with one or more dogs. Emphasis is on further preparing the candidate to be eligible to apply for the CPDT-KA exam. In order for the student to be eligible for the CCPDT’s CPDT-KA exam, a total of 300 experience hours are needed within 3 years.
