To enroll in a group class at Canines At Training, you must agree to the policies below.
During the registration process, you will be required to check off a box stating that you have fully read, understand and agree to the policy statements.
We are providing the statements below so you may read them before beginning the registration process
- **I understand ONLY a 4-FOOT LEASH is ALLOWED in class.
No 6-foot leashes are permitted (except for Agility and Scent work).
Retractable leashes are prohibited. If I do not readily have a 4-foot leash,
I may borrow one of Canines At Training's during class time.
- **I FULLY understand that make-ups and credits for missed class hours are not offered.
We can give a refund for a paid session up to one week before the full session is scheduled to begin.
There are NO refunds available after the class session begins.
- **I will have a flat collar or well-fitting harness for my dog.
Front-clip style harnesses are the best. Canines At Training recommends the Blue-9 Balance harness (that I may purchase on site, if desired).
If the trainers deem it is necessary, they may change out my collar or harness for something more conducive during class time.
- **Rewards: I will bring kibble, and even more preferable are small soft treats (nothing crunchy or crumbly) and/or a favorite toy (no squeaky toys) to offer as training rewards.
Higher value food rewards work the best (plain kibble doesn't always cut it in a class environment). Canines At Training utilizes a "tier" so that higher valued yummies can be provided for more complex behaviors. I will bring plain kibble, along with soft treats (no crumbly treats) plus something super tasty - like hot dogs, cheese, chicken or the like. I will have these items cut into small pieces. I will not feed my dog before class.
- **I will bring poopie disposal bags. I am responsible for cleaning up after my pet.
- **I will allow my dog an opportunity to relieve itself in one of the grassy areas before entering the facility, even if he or she just went before we left home.
- **I WILL NOT ALLOW my dog to walk up to, interact with or greet another dog in class or outside the facility. I am responsible for my dog at all times.
- **All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations or titers appropriate fore his or her age or medical condition. (Please read our Puppy vaccination policy) If my dog looks ill, displays any sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, nasal discharge, coughing, tummy or bowels problems, seems listless or is not acting normal, I will not bring him or her to class, but I am aware I can attend without my dog so I don't miss any of the information. If for any other reason I am not able to attend class, if requested, Canines At Training can provide a list of the skills covered so I know what was taught.
